Building quality back links is key ingredient for a successful search engine optimization strategy because it helps to bring in traffic as well as increase your overall website quality. The new Google panda algorithm pays less attention to page rank but quality backlinks are still one of the main ranking factor.
It has been mentioned gazillion times that practices such as commenting on blogs, blog guest posts, articles, press releases are great ways to build back links and yes in some cases quality ones.
Google will start paying great attention to content shared via Google+ for obvious reasons, people tend to share good content. There are two ways to not only build quality back links but also long lasting and most importantly worth sharing.
1. Infographics / Infoposters – This is a new trend of expressing certain functions with diagrams and sexy graphics. It is eye catching and most importantly it is content that everyone can use on blogs and websites. It is content worth sharing. This means that your backlinks will be as many as are the blogs/websites that used your infographic. You do not need to spend thousands of dollars to have an infographic / infoposter designed; freelance marketplaces are full of great designers. Make sure you pick a topic you know very well and teach something to your readers. “ How to “ guides work the best. Excellent marketing tool to create publicity and build links especially for media and marketing agencies.
2. WordPress themes – WordPress is the most well-known content management system that used to be just a blogging platform, nevertheless, it will soon transform the way we create websites forever. I love wordpress because of its endless capabilities and ease of use. A theme is the design of the website or blog and there are many available for free. By creating a good looking free to use theme (it includes your link at the footer) you automatically create that many back links as the blogs or websites using it. Again, you do not need to invest tons of money to have a good wordpress theme designed. Couple of hundred dollars should be more than enough. A great marketing tool for web designers and web hosting companies.
The whole idea behind those two practices is that the better the infographic/infoposter the higher the chances that it will be featured at top rank blog such as Mashable. Once more, go for quality and you will not lose.
I am in the process of having both of these tools implemented to build back links and increase traffic; therefore, I will soon have a hand on report on how well it worked.
